Over 400,000 families are affected by Multiple Sclerosis today in the United States. And while there is currently no cure for this disease, you can do your part to make a world free of MS a reality.
On June 12th, the inaugural Mud Run Brandywine will take place in Newtown Square. The event, hosted by WYSP’s Danny Bonaduce, consists of a 10K course with beautiful scenery that the average or trained athlete can participate in. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of mud to play in for everyone there who may not be the best conditioned athlete. Although this is the first time this particular event has been launched in the local area, it has taken place in other regions of the country, and the results have been very encouraging.
“The idea started with our North Florida Chapter when they launched this in 2009,” says Jeff Brody, Development Manager for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (Greater Delaware Valley Chapter). “In six weeks, they managed to raise over $100K with 1,000 runners.”
Registration will be open through June 10. Right now registration is $60. In addition to registering, runners need to raise at least $100 each. People can join as teams and individuals.
